What bespoke means at Caleums

Bespoke means the piece starts with you, not with our catalogue. It might be:

• an engagement ring built around a stone you choose, natural or lab-grown;
• a wedding piece that carries your initials or a shared story;
• a name in Arabic calligraphy, drawn by hand for your spelling;
• a signet ring with Latin initials or an Arabic name;
• a men's ring or a bracelet in a weight that suits you;
• a jewelled cover for your WHOOP® band in gold or silver;
• a catalogue design changed to suit you: a different gold colour, karat, stone or size.

Caleums is a Dubai fine-jewellery house founded by Emirati designer Omran AlAmeri. The bench work happens at Goldencraft, our manufacturing partner in Dubai, which also makes pieces for jewellers around the Gold Souq. Design and making happen in the same city, so a commission can move from sketch to finished piece quickly.

How a commission works, step by step

1. Tell us the idea. Fill in the enquiry form or send a message on WhatsApp with a sketch or a few reference photos. Tell us your preferred metal and stones, an approximate budget, the ring size if you know it, and any date you're working towards. For a WHOOP piece, tell us your device model.

2. Talk it through. We meet in person in Dubai or talk on WhatsApp. We go through proportions, metal colour, stone shape and size, and how you'll wear the piece day to day. This is where you choose between a natural and a lab-grown diamond.

3. See the design. We start with a sketch, then model the piece in CAD and send you a 3D render. You approve the final render in writing, and that render is the design we make.

4. Agree the quote and timing. You get a written quote with the render, the specification, the price and the production time. A quote is valid for 7 days, because the price of gold moves. To start production we take a 50% deposit. The deposit is non-refundable once you have signed off the design.

5. Making at Goldencraft. The piece is cast or fabricated, stones are set, and the metal is finished by hand at our partner workshop in Dubai.

6. Quality check and handover. We check the piece, then send the invoice for the balance. Each piece is stamped with its purity mark, and a natural diamond described as GIA certified comes with its GIA certificate. You can collect in Dubai, or we deliver free and insured: next day in the UAE and by DHL Express abroad.

What bespoke costs

The price is built from three things: the metal (its weight multiplied by the day's gold rate), the stones, and the hours of design and bench work. On 6 October 2026, 18K gold traded at AED 379.50 per gram in Dubai (Khaleej Times). A 5 g ring therefore holds about AED 1,900 of gold before stones and craft.

Bespoke commissions start from AED 4,500. The pieces below are from our catalogue and show where each kind of commission usually lands. Prices are in AED and include 5% VAT. Clients outside the UAE pay the same AED price.

Tell us your budget at the start. We'll say honestly what it can buy, and where a lab-grown stone, a lighter setting or a different karat would stretch it.

How long it takes

We confirm timing with your quote; made-to-order catalogue pieces take about 7 days. A new design takes longer, because you approve the render first. If you have a wedding, proposal or Eid date, tell us at the start, and we'll say straight away whether it is realistic.

Metals and stones

• Gold in 9K, 14K, 18K, 21K or 22K, in yellow, white or rose. 18K (75% gold) is our house standard because it holds claws and pavé securely. White gold is rhodium-plated for a bright white finish.
• Platinum for a naturally white metal that keeps its colour.
• Sterling silver for lighter pieces, often with lab-grown diamonds.
• Purity marks. Each piece is stamped with its purity mark. For gold that is 375 (9K), 585 (14K), 750 (18K), 875 (21K) or 916 (22K). Platinum is stamped 950 and sterling silver 925.
• Natural diamonds. Pieces described as GIA certified come with their GIA certificate.
• Lab-grown diamonds, always named as lab-grown. Centre stones from 1 ct come with an IGI report; small accent stones are not individually certified.
• Coloured stones we already work with: sapphires (blue, pink, yellow, orange), rubies, emeralds, tsavorites, pearls, citrine, blue topaz, onyx and more.

Commissions we have made

• Mystic Quadrant: a wedding bracelet in 12 g of 18K white gold with 70 marquise and 200 round natural diamonds. The Islamic geometric pattern matches the groom's ring.
• Regal Sunbeam: a wedding necklace with a 16.66 ct unheated natural yellow sapphire, over 10 ct of diamonds arranged as sun rays, and the couple's initials, in 100 g of 18K white gold.
• Sunlit Flare: a reversible ring with a 3.05 ct unheated yellow sapphire and 2 ct of diamonds. It flips to show a second face. It is now also available as the Reversible Yellow Sapphire Ring.
• Glacial Glow: bridal earrings with 3.5 ct of natural diamonds in 10 g of 18K white gold, designed around a couple's love of travel.
• Circle of Life: a men's wedding ring with a spinning outer band in Islamic geometry and 1.5 ct of natural diamonds.
• Shamsa: the name شمسه in gold Arabic script, with three diamonds and four pink sapphires.
• Marquise Promise: a 1 ct marquise engagement ring with 2.2 ct of surrounding diamonds, and a matching 1.5 ct marquise band.

How much does bespoke jewellery cost in Dubai?

It depends on the metal weight, the stones and the work involved. Our bespoke commissions start from AED 4,500. As a guide, lab-grown diamond engagement rings start from AED 4,500 and natural diamond engagement rings from AED 9,000, including VAT. You get a written quote before anything is made.

Can you resize my ring later?

Yes. One resize within 30 days of delivery is free of charge.

Do you deliver outside the UAE?

Yes. Bespoke pieces are delivered free and insured by DHL Express, and clients abroad pay the same AED price. Import duties and taxes are paid by the recipient on delivery.
